parents of older kids

When did your child first develop his/her true personality? My DC is 2 is this age too young to tell..I feel like I am noticing a lot of different traits lately

Re: parents of older kids

My oldest DD is 9 and she is ALOT (personality wise) like she was at 2. Obviously she has grown and is more mature but she still has the same traits. Her "younger" stories completely fit the person she is today. We'll even make comments saying Oh yeah that's totally Av to do that.

So my answer is yes, at 2 years old a lot of their personality is developed.

Oh no I am in trouble then..My two year old is such a diva..loves dressy clothes..puts on my heals..She is very stubborn and a perfectionist..If she finds something on the floor will pick it up and throw it in the garbage..Loves to dance..

Hmmmmmmmmm.......

Honestly....their personalities are the same as they were since they were about that age.

They've grown up and become more mature etc...but essentially what makes them them is still the same.

I think that 2 is about when you see their real personality if not sooner!
My oldest was a really quiet baby and at 12 he is still very sweet & quiet!
My 2nd on the other hand is totally loud, over dramatic and needs all the attention and he too is the same as he was at 2!Chat Icon

Re: parents of older kids

Early. Really early. I love watching videos because i can now see a lot of who they are as it was developing.

Personalities are flexible to some degree and certain tendencies might not manifest the way you think. We thought Robbie would definitely be a little attention ***** but he's actually kind of reserved until he really gets to know you.. THEN he's an attention *****! We were certain Noah would be the reserved one - but he's not remotely shy. He'll strike up a conversation with anyone who strikes his interest - and ignore anyone who doesn't. And I'm sure that their little personas are still developing now.. I can't wait to see what they are like as adults!
