parking tickets on Long Island
This may be a stupid question, but I'm a NYC resident and never had this happen before.
I received a parking violation for an expired meter (fine is $15) in the village of Great Neck Plaza.
1) I had no idea there was a meter to pay, so I went back and saw that it was literally in the bushes, and not close to the curb where the other meters were.
2) I just want to pay the ticket and be over with it...
but:
1) are the repercussions if I don't pay it? Like, will they come after me?
2) How the heck do I pay this online?

OMG...pay it, they are ruthless in that village. I even worked for the former mayor and they came after me for years over an expired meter at NYSC. Pay it, they get nasty and they will come after you.

yeah, the $15 wasn't worth the aggravation. Just wish I could pay online instead of looking for a check book!

I hear ya. They chased me no joke for 5 years. Even when I moved 2x, they sent papers to my parents house. It just annoyed me that i worked for the former mayor at the time and she wouldn't even cut me a break!

Read the ticket carefully, make sure you dont need a bank check or a money order. If you got a ticket at the Massapequa Train station, they used to require you to pay by bank check or money order.
