Parties and Guest (children) with Peanut Allergies
New mom here.....curious, I am having my dd's baptismal soon which got me thinking of dessert. What do you do for children with peanut allergies? I know the place where we are ordering the cake from bakes other items with peanut. I was thinking of getting a seperate small cake from friendlys that is peanut free.
What have been your experiences?

Re: Parties and Guest (children) with Peanut Allergies
chiming in on this one: My nephew has peanut allergies (tree nuts) so he can have chips ahoy, most ice cream and/or brownies Betty Crocker has one with no tree nuts or there is one frozen to bake brownie my mom has been buying and he can have that.
Just always read the labels just to double check and when you put the food out make sure its not near the peanut food because sometimes other kids will touch the food and then contaminate.

Re: Parties and Guest (children) with Peanut Allergies
As someone who has a nut allergy, I would never expect the host of a party for many people to be responsible for my allergy concerns.
I think it is the parents' responsibility and very thoughtful gesture on your part to get a separate cake, but not necessary.
Do you already know someone attending who has a nut allergy?

I agree. Thoughtful but not necessary.

We had someone at DS's birthday who had a nut allergy among other allergies and his mom told us she would bring dessert and other food for her son.

I think it is a good idea if you are having a lot of children... Many parents don't give any type of nuts until after 3 years old. Ice cream cake is a good idea.
