Pasta Sauce recipe needed!
I can't continue buying jarred sauce. I want to make my own, but have never found a recipe that we love. Please share your best meatless sauce recipe!

Re: Pasta Sauce recipe needed!
No recipe needed! LOL
Coat the bottom of a large pot with olive oil & sautee a chopped onion, then add as much crushed garlic as desired. Sautee for a few minutes until onions are translucent, but garlic is NOT brown. Then add cans of crushed tomatoes. Bring up temperature until bubbling, them simmer for about an hour (the longer the better!). During the simmering add shredded fresh basil and salt to taste.
So easy and so yummy!!!!!!!!!

Giada's marinara sauce recipe is delicious and easy to make! I make a batch and keep it in the freezer.

Re: Pasta Sauce recipe needed!
3 cans crushed tomatoes and/or tomato puree (i like Cento or Progresso) 1/4 cup olive oil 8-10 cloves of garlic (i use garlic person but can be chopped) 9-12 large fresh basil leaves, sliced thin ( i stack them all up and roll them before I chop it into thin slices 2 teaspoons of chopped flat-leaf parsley Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil and mix in garlic-cook until slightly brown - toss in parsley and basil until soft and mix up until soft 20-30 seconds) - add tomatoes and s/p to taste - cook at least a half hour, but the longer you cook it up the better. - I usually double it up and freeze it so I always have it ready to go
Delish.
I know a lot of people who add chopped onion to their sauce...im not a fan, but it does sweeten the sauce, if you prefer sweeter sauce you can always add in a chopped onion with the garlic, but I never do nor have I ever tried that out. ;0)

Re: Pasta Sauce recipe needed!
I'm not a big "measurer" when I'm cooking, so this isn't terribly exact, but I usually use 16 ounces of crushed tomatoes, a few chopped gloves of garlic, olive oil, a few dashes each of salt, pepper, oregano, and Italian seasoning. I also add in some red wine sometimes.
I tend to make it a little bit different each time, but those are my base ingredients.

1 giant can whole peeled tomatoes (or two smaller can) 1 can tomato paste 3 garlic cloves a few tbsp olive oil salt and pepper oregano parsley basil
Put the tomatoes in a blender and liquefy them. Strain out the seeds.
Sautee garlic in a sauce pot just until you can smell it. Add liquefied tomatoes and bring to a boil.
In a separate small pot, bring about 2 cups water to a boil an add tomato paste. Break down with a fork and liquefy and bring to a boil. Add to tomato/garlic mixture.
Add salt and pepper to taste and about a tablespoon each of oregano, parsley, and basil.
Cover and simmer on stove top for at least one hour
