paying a friend to watch DD

So my best friends sister said that if i needed someone to watch DD when i go back to work she'd be more than happy to. My MIL can do 3 days a week so this was a perfect easy solution because she lives near by and I know her and trust her and I wouldn't be tied to day care hours bc dh and i dont work traditional 9 to 5.

We talked logistics last night and I asked if she wanted to do this hourly or a per day rate and her husband said lets do this hourly to see how it goes and she said for the other little girl she watches part time (various days and hours - really seemed more like babysitting but it is a consistent 20 hours a week) she gets paid $11/hour.

Now at $11/hour (which I know is by no means unreasonable) we are looking at $100/day which is what it would cost to send her to a really fancy day care in the city. I know this is convenient and everything but I was thinking I'd be paying somewhere in the $75/day range.

Do I ask her if she'd be willing to do this for $75/day or do I just agree to pay what the other person is paying her and suck it up in a sense?

I feel a bit awkward but at the same time its just a bit more money than i was looking to spend...

Just pay it!
I would do anything for that comfortable situation.
Good luck!
