PCOS girls- high LH/FSH ratio
Just got my blood test results back, I have a very high LH/FSH ratio (8.6/1.8). Ob gyn says it is a definite indicator of PCOS and dysfunction of the ovaries. Anyone is dealing with this particular issue? Is high ratio enough to make a PCOS diagnosis? thanks

Re: PCOS girls- high LH/FSH ratio
first im assuming your bloodwork was done around CD3??
thats not that bad at all!!!!!! mine was 21:2!!! i also think 7 and under is normal for LH so 8.something isnt out of control like mine was. a 3:1 LH:FSH is a very common sign of PCOS, and while i am no doctor, i would say if your levels indicate that ratio, PCOS is very likely.
i remember being totally freaked out when i found out - but really its not that bad. do you have symptoms of PCOS like acne or weird hair growth? i have acne and its good to have a reason for it. i kept thinking it was something i was doing wrong .
anyway i wont make this long but i vivdly remember being totally sad and freaked out by my PCOS diagnoses back this past november. it took a while to sink in but its not the worst thing in the world and you can get pregnant with it - you just may need some help if you don't O on your own (many of us dont). feel free to FM if you have questions!!!

Re: PCOS girls- high LH/FSH ratio
thank you for your response. actually, bloodword was done on CD 47 ( since I have a major delay with AF ) and ob gyn did amenorreah panel, which included all these hormones. Do you think if these tests are not done on CD3, it might skew the results?
