PCOS ladies...could this mean what I think it means?
Hey all
It's been awhile since I've posted here, but the most bizarre thing happened to me today, and I'm wondering if it actually MEANS what I think it means.
I had my DD 9 months ago. No sign of AF since then. I'm not at all surprised...I have not gotten AF on my own in years and years. As a matter of fact, I've been debating going back on the Pill so that I don't have to worry about it until we are ready to TTC again.
Today, I felt just as I normally would on any other day, but when I came home (TMI alert) there was blood all over my underwear. I couldn't believe it
Could this possibly mean that I O'd on my own? Because if that's what it means, I'd better get on some BCP just in case my body decided to "fix" itself
Anyone have something similar happen to them? I thought I remembered hearing that just because you get AF, it doesn't necessarily mean you O'd.
I haven't O'd on my own since my early twenties...I guess it's wishful thinking.

I think b/c it has been so long, you might have just had your lining shed. Over time, it has to break down, O or not. But, ya never know! Maybe try and use OPK's this month just to see if anything happens.

Unfortunately, I learned the expensive way that OPKs are not accurate for me. I bought the CBEFM and all the test strips. One month I FINALLY got the egg symbol, but the bloodwork showed that I did not O after all
I did find myself wondering if it just needed to force itself out after so long. Guess it's time to start on the BCPs again.

i used the opks and even got the monitor. showed i was surging all the time when in fact i wasnt (showed i wasnt thru sonos and bloodwork) so i know how expensive it can be.
As far as bleeding my re said it doesnt necessaril mean u O'd (sorry to put a damper on things) I would get breakthru bleeding and not O as well.
Pcos stinks

I have PCOS and have also has scattered AF's since having DD....Didn't BF and they basically started coming after she was around 3 months old...
Now AF comes anywhere from 1-2x a month sometimes Spotted all last week and yesterday AF finally arrived...Before my DD I would only get it maybe 4x a year..
Unfortunately you can have annovulatory AF's so I'm not sure if theres any way to tell except for maybe temping

Yeah, I figured as much I don't want to bother with temping, we are nowhere NEAR ready to TTC again. I guess I was just hoping that my body finally got the message that it's delusional
PCOS really does suck. I remember when we WERE TTC, before the meds, how I used to get TONS of EWCM and think to myself, "That HAS to mean my body's doing its job, right?" I came to find out that it puts on a good front that things are going as normal, but behind the scenes, there's nothing going on. Frustrating.

Re: PCOS ladies...could this mean what I think it means?
I got an IUD because even though i do not ovulate on my own, you never know. I have had my period 3 times since the twins were born. I have no clue whether or not I am ovulating, but I get tons of EWCM in between periods, so who knows? OPKs don't work for me either b/c I always have high levels of LH (which probably explains the EWCM). ETA: my gyno said if I go more than 3 months without AF that I should call the office for a provera script. She wanted to put me back on metformin, but I vetoed that idea.

The LH surge is my issue, too.
I have actually stayed on the Metformin from the time we were TTC to now. But I know that I fit the typical "stature" of someone with PCOS and that I am dealing with a good amount of IR.
But Provera...ugh. That was by far the worst part of the TTC process for me!

Re: PCOS ladies...could this mean what I think it means?
I dont ovulate...nothing even could make me ovulate until we got to IVF.
I still get my period randomly. I think it's hormonal, but not necessarily ovulation.
I still use condoms even though I dont ovulate AND my DH has sperm issues bc MY frekking luck sucks when it comes to things like this and I really have to wait a few more months before another pregnancy.
