Ped told me I should be feeding him 2 times a day...
Cereal, mostly. Baby food if I want, but when I take him home, he only wants the bottle. At daycare, they tell me he wolfs down his cereal, but at home - and even on weekends, he has very little interest in it...
He is 6 mts old... Will he be more interested as he gets closer to 7 mts? I havent even been botherigng with the second feeding on the weekdays because I am so limited on time as it is, I dont want to spend it watching him spit out his food....

I know we share the same ped.
He asked me what the kids were eating and I told him I was folowing the "super baby food" book and he never questioned it. I did give him a list of what vegetables they tried. They do eat twice a day but their dinner is mostly vegetable and maybe a spoonful of cereal btwn the two of them

Re: Ped told me I should be feeding him 2 times a day...
From what I have read, eating is only for practice now & not for nutrition since formula or breast milk is all they need until they are a year old. I give my DD cereal 2x a day, but only after she has her bottle first. Some days, I don't have time for the 2nd meal (her first is at daycare or my mom's) so she just gets her bottle. I don't think its a big deal.

I love him for that - he is so supportive of parents feeding their kids how they want - I guess he sees a thriving baby, and feels we know what we are doing...
I just need to buy a blender one of these days (my younger stepdaughter broke the last one a while ago) and then I'll be making food too!

Re: Ped told me I should be feeding him 2 times a day...
I've been feeding him twice a day and when I went last week for 6 mo check up, she said to add a third meal. He eats a whole stage 1 jar for breakfast, lunch and dinner now. He doesn't take any cereal from the spoon--he never liked it and wouldn't. He does get oatmeal in his bottle for reflux. But, he also doesn't drink a lot and his weight percentage had decreased this visit, so I don't know if she said to add another meal specifically for us or if she tells all 6mo old baby's that.

Re: Ped told me I should be feeding him 2 times a day...
Thomas eats cereal and fruit for breakfast at daycare (Mon-Fri.). For dinner, I try to give him cereal and veggie. He doesn't like veggies, so I have to disguise them with fruit on each spoon, so he ends up eating cereal, veggie and fruit for dinner. BUT, maybe half of the time, he's just not interested in eating dinner. I try, and if he refuses to eat or only takes a few spoons, we skip dinner and I give him bottle before bed.

How can you not just love him? We were there today and Stacey, the PA, and I were saying how he really is great. She even made her sister switch to him.
We are planning on starting a third meal next week when they turn 7 months.
