Mine is drastically different than yours. My ped said not to give cereal more than twice a day due to the iron content.

I know you didn't ask for any opinions but I would try and give him vegatables first instead of fruit only because it is harderd to get them to the veggies afterwards because it isn't as sweet. And don't forget to take lots of pictures

Re: Feeding Schedule per my ped -- for the girls who requested it!
Thanks !!
I just want to mention that my doctor told me the following
(dd is 6 months old)
Cereal 3 times a day (1-2tablespoons)
Fruit or veggies 3 times a day (along with the cereal)...total of 1 1/2 to 2 jars of fruits or veggies a day
That seems much easier

Isn't that kind of the same schedule? Except towards the end he has me doing cereal, fruit, and a veggie for dinner.

It all looks nice on paper but be prepared your DC might have different plans on what they're ready to eat.

I guess, it just seems so regimented. That he is telling you what veggies to give. It is similar, I was just trying to condense it and my doctor said I can give whatever fruits and veggies I want, that is the only difference.

I think this is basically just a rough idea of how it works...and how you need to give them the same thing for one week to make sure there are no allergic reactions. If I wasn't on LIF I would have had no clue about that!

Gotcha, I wasn't trying to be argumentative, just trying to simplify it a bit, thanks

Re: Feeding Schedule per my ped -- for the girls who requested it!
Thank you for that list it was helpful to see what your ped recommended!
I have a question - the carrots - are you making baby food or buying it? I read that you shouldn't make your own carrots or I think it was spinach for the baby b/c of the level of nitrates? I want to make my own food but not sure what people do who give carrots.

I think it depends on your ped. I can start now bc Jack is so big (18.2lbs at 3 months)
I think it usually starts anywhere between 4-6 mnths.
Lillykat - I'm not making any baby food personally...I can barely make food for myself to eat. So, I don't know the answer to your question sorry!

I was told by the doctor to NOT make your own carrots or beets, not sure why though

I was going to say the same. Fro example, Steven was never able to eat the cereal at night. It would keep him up. So, I started giving him the veggies instead and he was fine.
It's all trial and error. No two babies are exactly the same.

When does this feeding schedule start?
Whenever you and the ped. feel it's OK to start. Steven started at 3 1/2 months. Some start at 4 or 5 months and some wait until after 6 months.

Thanks for posting. I also wanted to reccommend the book Super Baby Foods and the site wholesome baby foods. They are helpful for anyone, but especially those that want to make their own baby food.

Thanks Diana!!!!! My ped just told us to start, didn't give a guide and I haven't figured it out on my own yet

Personally, this hasn't been true for us. We gave DS applesauce, pears, peaches and bananas all before he tried green beans and carrots and he loves the green beans WAY more than peaches. I kinda think that is an old wives tale
