Pediasure for picky eaters? Anyone?
Does anyone give their toddlers pedia sure? Megan is such a picky eater and hasnt gotten any better at all. She is growing tall but not gaining weight which is concerning me.
I am gonna ask the ped next week but was wondering if anyone gives their picky eaters this?

Re: Pediasure for picky eaters? Anyone?
A friend gives them to her son (we use the same Ped) not sure if its on his advise. When DS had cocksaykie (cooties), I was looking for soft foods for him - thought here would be more nutrition then regular milk. I asked the pharmacist - he said it looked better then milk.
One thing: Her DS won't drink white milk b/c her hubby gave him choc milk so you might want to consider that when you pick flavors.

I would give it a shot. The vitamins in it wouldnt hurt. I tried to give it to my DD when she was sick and she wanted no part of it.

Re: Pediasure for picky eaters? Anyone?
My ped recommended Pediasure b/c ds is such a picky eater. I give it to him everyday. It does taste like a milkshake so sometimes I mix a little milk in so he doesn't refuse his reg milk other times

I give it to both my kids to boost their caloric intact. They're both lightweights and light eaters. Sometimes I add it to their milk, sometimes I give it to them straight.
(it was recommended by my ped)

Re: Pediasure for picky eaters? Anyone?
My dr has suggested it for my 8 year old so we give them as a supplement to meals.

We give DD carnation instant breakfast as well. She loves it! She didn't like pediasure.

Re: Pediasure for picky eaters? Anyone?
I was giving it to one of my kids in the am, but it was causing him to not eat breakfast and pick at his lunch. Without it he was getting more calories then if he drank it. This was per the advise of my ped, but he also mentioned it might cause them not to eat and be hungry at meal time.

good point, and thats exactly why I don't give them a whole bottle all at once, and never any before breakfast. I spread the bottle out throughout the day so it doesn't fill them up too much.

Re: Pediasure for picky eaters? Anyone?
my ds has some feeding issues and eats soooo slow so we give him 2 pediasures in addition to his 3 full meals (he really doesn't snack at all.) i give it after his nap at about 4pm, he has dinner at 7pm and then another before bed at 9pm.
it has a lot of sugar in it which causes is teeth to get a plaque build up so we always wipe his teeth with a floride wash (he doesn't drink it.)
