pediatrician Question - who sees baby at hospital
We picked our pediatrician. The practice is in West Islip! we are delivering at North Shore Manhasset (Katz). If it was a local hospital, the pediatrician would come see baby at hospital. Since it is not local, they told me to call when baby is born, then call when we are discharged to make an appointment.
So, since my pediatrician doesn't come to hospital, who looks at him? The hospital's pediatrician? How does this work, esp for women who delivered at Katz?
Also, who circumcises the baby? Ob? Hospital ped?

The baby will be seen by the hospital Ped.
Circimcisions are done by the OB because Peds are not surgeons.

I had the opposite..lol..delivered in W. Islip and my drs. don't have rights out there..DD was treated by the in hospital ped...

I was in the same situation but I live in Huntington and not West Islip. My pediatrician saw my son the day after we came home from the hospital. At the hospital they had him see one of the hospitals pediatricians. It turns out that the person they used was the pediatrician that I saw when I was a kid... Small world!

The hospital ped saw my DD when she was born. My regular ped saw her at about 5 days old.

My OB rec. one in the hospital that he really liked. My ped wanted me to call when DS was born. He then called and spoke with the Dr in the hospital. He then saw DS our 1st full day at home.
