Does your Pediatrician - Doctor's office have a seperate well and sick room area - entrance?

Re: Pediatrician seperate well - sick waiting room?
No, but my Dr. does rush well children through the waiting room and his office assistants take infants quickly as well.
I've heard of doctors offices doing this. When I was interviewing pediatricians I could not find one that offered separate office hours, but I know they exist. Can you ask your ob/midwife for recommendations?

Re: Pediatrician seperate well - sick waiting room?
Nope. I asked about that at my interview, he said there's no benefit to it. Sick kids always wind up on the well side and so do the germs.
he has specific hours just for newborns.

Re: Pediatrician seperate well - sick waiting room?
Yes in theory but it's the same sign in area at the reception area so I don't see how it does not interfere. I see moms signing in with their sick kids and I was with a NB trying to sign in for his well visit. Needless to say, I stay away from anyone all the time.

Yes-- separate entrance/exits, separate waiting rooms, separate examining rooms, and separate bathrooms!! Picture sort of an "L" shaped suite of rooms-- one side of the L is the well side and the other side is the sick side.
I LOVE this aspect of the practice!!!

Re: Pediatrician seperate well - sick waiting room?
sort of. the sick area is to the right of the reception desk, well to the right. but it's all one big open room really.
and you have to walk through the sick area to get to the newborn waiting room, which I never understood.

Yes. They are actually on different levels. The Well office is on the first floor and Sick office is downstairs.

Seperate waiting rooms and I'm pretty sure they try to keep sick/well hours especially for the babies.

Re: Pediatrician seperate well - sick waiting room?
No, one entrance. The peds I met all had one waiting room. Mine does rush infants through though, and they are scheduled at different times than other children.
So generally, I am not in the waiting room for long.
