Bethenny Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy have called it quits after almost three years of marriage.
"This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother I have to accept as the best choice for our family," Frankel said in a statement to the AP. "We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us."
News of their split comes after months of speculation that their relationship was on the rocks. Earlier this summer, the reality TV star, author and talk-show host admitted that she was fighting for her marriage, which was filmed for and subsequently documented on her Bravo reality show Bethenny Ever After.
Frankel and Hoppy, who married March 2010 when Frankel was seven months pregnant, are parents of daughter Bryn Hoppy, 2½. The family was spotted out together in New York last week, even as rumors swirled that a split was imminent.
Frankel, 42, is the creator of the Skinnygirl line of cocktail, food and nutrition products and rose to early fame as a cast member on The Real Housewives of New York. She later starred in Bethenny Getting Married? and as host of her own talk show, Bethenny. As an author, she has published four books.
Frankel met Hoppy at a nightclub in November 2008, and they two became engaged 11 months later. At the time, she told PEOPLE he gave her life stability.
"He's my anchor," she said back then. "I fell in love with a regular guy with a regular salary. He taught me that being taken care of was emotional and not financial."

Like many others, I saw so many signs right from the start.
I know they were working in it but IMO she continues to let her past negatively impact her present.
Jason didn't cause her dysfunctional childhood and he shouldn't have to suffer the wrath for it.

I completely agree. She should have tried to let go of her past, for her future...it's very sad

This makes me sad. I knew their marriage wasn't the best but, I was always rooting for her and her family. After such a crap childhood I always thought she deserved to be happy.
She was just on WWHL last week & she shot down divorce rumors when asked.

ugh. I like her. but in all honesty, she is MUCH. She exhausted me after just watching her show, which is 1 hr, i cant imagine living with someone like that.

I agree. I so wanted it to work for them but I do think she let the past get in the way of her happiness. Plus, the more successful she got I think she became way too high maintenance for her. I bet Jason's family is relieved. She never seemed to mesh with them and I loved them

Not surpsiing at all IMO. The way she treated him and his family was hard to watch! I mean, making her glammy of 15 minutes the guardian of her child if something were to happen to them instead of the child's loving and willing and able grandparents  She has real issues and is entirely self absorbed. Sad for the little girl though!

They don't match; never have.

Not surprised. Wasn't there an episode where they were on vacation and they were having dinner and he was saying something to the effect of "you treat me like an employee and not an equal partner." Plus, she is SO sarcastic (and I love good sarcasm) but when it is the ONLY thing that comes out of your mouth, that probably gets REALLY obnoxious.
Wonder if they had a prenup bc she made a PRETTY penny after they got married.

Could have predicted this before they got married, honestly he was stupid to marry her, naive is maybe a better word. She has loyalty to no one and nothing, she is fickle and selfish--well that is how she is on TV she is probably worse in real life.

I am really sad for them....I think it was too much for them all at once...baby, marriage, her success with skinnygirl. I know she has her issues but I really feel Jason didn't know what to do with all her success. They didn't have time to be just Bethenny and Jason. Right away it was Bethenny, Jason, baby, Real Housewives, Skinnygirl success, TV shows.
I hope she can find the happiness she deserves.

Yep! I remember that! Jason always wanted to be perceived as the good guy. The last season of her show, he threw out some nasty barbs at her just to wound her. So, they both played dirty.
I truly feel if they hadn't had the most critical time of their lives (newlyweds, new baby) documented & cameras in their face 24/7 maybe it wouldn't have been so strained. She always put her career and her brand above her marriage. Sadly it took its toll.

I didn't want to think this was true...but my husband thinks this whole thing was arranged. She wanted a baby, he gave her one, they stay together for a bit and then divorce and he gets paid.
I still don't think THIS scenario is true, but DH told me this from the moment Jason came on the scene.
I'm sad for their daughter.

I couldn't see their marriage surviving after everything she shared on their show. The extremely personal stuff she said in therapy about herself and their relationship, her constant personal comments about him and his parents, it was was all too much. I also just don't think he could handle her success and she couldn't handle his lack of success (in her eyes). Despite it all I was rooting for them.
