what happened during her childhood that carried over into her marriage? Ionly watched a few times and found her too neurotic and exhausting...though she seems like a lot of fun to be distant friends with

I googled about her childhood and all I kept thinking was how she really threw her mother under the bus!

I googled about her childhood and all I kept thinking was how she really threw her mother under the bus!
Her mom is a nut job! Her dad was a very famous horse trainer/breeder who was never around. Her mom and her step father had a very dysfunctional relationship and would get a lot of money, blow it all. So Bethenny claims she went from living in a car, to a mansion on Long Island a few times.
Bethenny really did have a shit childhood with very little positive aspects. I always rooted for her to find love when she was on Housewives. So, when she found Jason, & then got pregnant I thought she finally had her chance to live a normal, healthy life, The one she always coveted. Sadly, she couldn't get her past out of the way & Jason was punished a lot.
I remember the episode when they were meeting the minister who was going to marry them.. Jason said Bethenny was the kite, and he was the string. Always letting her fly, but wrangles her in when needed. I guess there is only so much someone can take before they start biting back.
My heart breaks for Bryn, I really hope they can work it out.

People Mag Reporting: Bethenny Frankel & Jason Hoppy Divorcing
I just recently watched the second season of Bethany ever after, and have some thoughts.
I think the main problem was when they get angry at EACHOTHER, they get mean to EACHOTHER. Then, when it calms down they have not resoved anything.
THEN, they harp on it, it gets brough up again nastier, and it cycles.
They never resolved any of their differences, and neverl listened to eachother.
I also didnt see a LOT of compramise either.
For exaple, she HATED going to see his parents every other weekeknd. HATED IT! He could not sit down with her and talk about it. So if she didnt want to go he made her feel guily and wrong. He could not understnad why B didnt want to go.
And neither one of them really sat down with eachother and talked about this issue, and how to compramise.
They also would pick pick pikc pick at old issues and NEVER let something go.
I also think one of the most stressful things was that he was threated, per se, by her success. INstead of embracing her success, and taking the time to figure out what he wanted to do, he resented that she was so successful AND he could not "find" his passion.
I also saw that he THOUGHT she treated him a ceratin way because he could not figure out what he wanted to do. She put artificical timelines of "well, you better figure this out soon".
And the last problem was they didnt know how to communicate. They never listened to eachother. They just heard what they THOUGHT the other was saying. Not what was REALLY being said.
Neither one could take a step back and say "I want to understand how you are feeling from your perspective and make sure we are on the same page". That would have saved them.
She also mentioned, a lot, how he kept saying she was damaged. Thats a very cruel thing to say to her. He grew up in a beautiful family witha great childhood. She did not. That does not make her damaged. It makes her different from him.
I just feelso badly for them.

This exactly.
They both just kept picking at the same old scabs, not healing anything, going out of their way to hurt one another with words.
Although, I stopped feeling bad for Jason when, He took her Achilles heel of her opening up her heart and trusting in him to tell him she felt "damaged." So what does he do? He threw that back in her face at the right time, just simply to hurt her.

I have only seen a few episodes but one of them was in Mexico (?) and I was perplexed as to why they had so many "employees" with them other than a film crew

Re: People Mag Reporting: Bethenny Frankel & Jason Hoppy Divorcing
Bethenny was always my girl, but I am so pissed about this. She really gives that poor guy a run for his money and treats his parents like garbage. She is really starting to mimic the horrible chidlhood she had.
I remember the episode where she decided with her contractor to take over Jason's man cave and use it for her closet. RUDE. She then calls Jason on speaker phone to tell him. Horrible.
I was always rooting for her bigtime.
You never know the real story, but I am sure Jason and his parents are devastated by this!

Re: People Mag Reporting: Bethenny Frankel & Jason Hoppy Divorcing
I have always found her to be really immature and annoying. There comes a time when, as an adult, you have to stop letting your childhood dictate your life. She seemed really comfortable reverting back to the same old excuses (her childhood) for what actually was immature, irrational and mean behavior.
I hope he meets someone nice. He seemed normal...maybe a little bit of a push-over, but overall not a bad guy.
