People who you a cleaning lady/service pls come in
My aunt and I are thinking about opening a cleaning service. Now my questions are:
Do you use a service ie: Merry Maids Do you use a friend referral (not a service)
Do they need to be insured?
How much about are you paying?
Just trying to get some ideas.
TIA
ETA: how big is your home, rooms baths etc.
TIA again.

I use an individual that was referred.
She does it on the side so I don't think she is insured.
We pay $85 every two weeks.
Good luck!

Re: People who you a cleaning lady/service pls come in
I found a great cleaning lady on Craigslist.
She has her own business, it was not an option for me to hire someone who wasn't licensed and insured.
We pay $70 every two weeks for our house--5 BR, 3.5BA, 2800 sq. ft. She does a SPECTACULAR job.
Hope it works out for you Jenn!!

I use a lady who was referred to me from a friend. This woman started her own small service and has a few women who work for her.
I pay 70 every two weeks for a 4 bedroom 3 full bath home.

Re: People who you a cleaning lady/service pls come in
I use the wife of someone I work with, and it's $100, but I only do it once a month or so. I clean in b/w, especially since I am off all summer. But I think I am being over-charged. Can the two PP give me their referral name and contact? I am just afraid to use someone I don't know. Do you leave them alone in your house?
Edited P.S. My house is 4 Bdrm, 2 bath.

A referral from a friend.
Do they need to be insured? Yes, they are licensed and insured.
How much about are you paying? $80 every other week.
ETA: how big is your home, rooms baths etc.
kitchen, office, dining room, den, 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths. We supply all the cleaning agents as well as rags and vacuum. they bring their own bucket, mop and broom.

Re: People who you a cleaning lady/service pls come in
I used a service in the beg and they charged $85 and that was leaving out one of my three bedrooms. They brought their own supplies. And they were insured.
I then hired someone from a referral. I doubt she is insured. I supply the cleaning products which I like better since I only use natural cleaning products. She does bring her own vacuum though and gloves. I pay her $75 for the entire house. 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths. My house is on the smaller side.

Re: People who you a cleaning lady/service pls come in
Wow - I'm getting ripped off, lol. I pay $65 for a two-person team to clean every other week. I live in an apartment so it's just one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and den. I also have an office but they only vacuum it. I supply the paper towels and they use their own cleaning products and vacuum (they refuse to use my Dyson).
Does the town you live in have an effect on the price they charge?

Re: People who you a cleaning lady/service pls come in
I use a private person, I am not 100% sure if they are licensed and insured and bonded. I do know we pay them by check. not cash, so they are declaring that money and paying taxes on it. So i guess its possible. We got them on a referral from someone who uses them for years already. we have been using them for 3 years now.
our house is 4 bedrooms 3.5 bathrooms. 2600 sq feet, and she charges 100 dollars a week. When our basement is finished i think the price will be around 125-150 a week, because that will add on another 1000 sq feet.
