Per Diem subs
Hi Guys,
I was a substitute years ago..and made $80 a day. What is the going rate lately? What districts pay more? Thanks

Some are still as low as $80 others are up to $100/105

opps, sorry I didn't answer part 2
I do not have much experience because I did all of my subbing and leave replacements in the same district, I know West Islip pays okay.

Thanks..wow I can't believe some places only pay $80 a day.. I subbed almost 7 years ago and it was the same pay..That is horrible!!!

I would think $80 is low - but if it's a better district they may pay lower, since worse school district need to attract subs - and they do so with $$.
When I subbed in 1997 - it was $60/day

unfortunately I didnt find this to be true in one case.
I get $115 at a very good district, and applied to a lower/worse school district (to get my foot in the door with my bilingual), and found that they pay $85  that's a Big difference, esp when I have to pay for childcare for the day also.
