PGD questions
Can someone help me understand PGD. I basically understand that they check the embryos for hereditary diseases and chromosomal abnormalities. What if they find a particular marker on an embryo? Is the embryo discarded OR is the marker somehow manipulated so that it no longer exists on the embryo?
My RE explained it and DH and I went home with different understandings. I thought that the embryos w/ the markers or abnormalities were discarded. He thought that they are simply changed to not have the abnormality.

Re: PGD questions
No, once the embryo is tested positive for abnormalities; they are discarded. It's part of the embryo's genetics; so there is no taking that out of them; although that would be a fantastic breakthrough in Science!

PGD questions
Yes depending upon your choice but there is no way (yet- you never know with science to "fix" it)
