i went to FIT in the city then Nassau Community College then switched majors. I have also taken a class at Nikon Digital school which i did enjoy. But if your serious then i say go back to college for it. I may do it eventually to complete my degree but I am working on my second degree in computer programing first.

The photography classes are at the bottom of pg 26. I'm taking the Creative photography one since I'm *hoping* to learn how to use my DSLR off the auto settings.

I am taking that class too as well as another LIF poster. It's an 8 week class. once a week for 2 hours.
Some libraries offer digital photography classes. Again usually meets once a week for a few weeks.
Berger Bros photography in Amityville is also offering classes. They have 2 hour classes I think.
Nikon offers classes in the City. They usually are all day classes for 1 day.

I would look at Berger Brothers website. I bought some books about photography because I find that is how I learn. I bought one about photographing children and one about my specific camera. I checked to see that the one about my camera has more detail than the owners' manual. I have not devoted much time to the books, though. At least with a class you know it is scheduled. I know I'll never take the time to become a real expert but I would like to improve my photography.
