Photography Moms-- Nikon D40? should I buy it?
I love pics and right now I have a Casio Exilim. It does the job but after seeing what your cameras do I want to step it up a notch.
Is this camera good for a beginner? I want to be able to take fabulous shots of my kids, family etc.

I think it is a good beginners camera, it has an auto function but you can also do other things with it

I have a Canon Rebel that I got for Christmas and I LOVE IT!!

I love that its the camera that lets me capture every move/moment etc and quick enough to get it all!

SLR means Single Lens Reflex...Essentially it allows you to see exactly what you are shooting. Before SLR cameras what you saw in the viewfinder wasnt exactly what you were shooting....
I would go for the D40. It's extremely affordable right now...

Definately one of the simplest and smallest SLR cameras around- I would highly recommend for a beginner.

I love mine even though I don't take advantage of all the features...
Cameta Camera has a geat deal on the D 40 right now.
D40 with the 18-55 AND 55-200 lenses for $479!!!!!

I love my SLR. This is a present from DH and honestly this is the most use and enjoyment have had out of a present.
I have the D40x (now replaced by the D60).
