Photography Moms--Help (Not a technical question)
How do you get your DC/subject to look at the camera? I swear, my DD refuses. No matter what I try, she turns her head or looks down. What can I do to make her look?
I've already trying calling her name, pretending something is "over there" and countless other tricks.

Ugh.
I broke my kid, he hate to look at me.
But, I've found getting on his level helps, if he is on the floor, I lay on the floor. At Chloe's age, I would try to make him laugh or put him someplace where he couldn't get down ( maybe that's why he won't look now )

My kids also will not look at me. It is very different trying to take pictures of your own kids rather than a kid that you are a complete stranger to.
But bribing works.....sometimes

Re: Photography Moms--Help (Not a technical question)
1. Bribing works great for older kids
2. I like to photograph when they are NOT posed, but rather catching them in the mist of some fun activity and asking them very quickly and suddenly to look at me. They always do because they don't expect it. Also, with the same scenario, you can ask them to hug each other to get a nice picture together (that's if you have two or more) Another dirty trick in this category is saying "wow, look at this" while you are standing there ready with your camera
3. Doing something funny with your body while you are taking their pictures. This works well for portraits. My FIL is a photographer and he shoots kids a lot. He likes to balance a small stuffed toy on his head when shooting and screaming that it's about to fall off. Obviously, the toy falls almost immediately but they love it!
Shooting kids is exhausting!
