Photoshop Questions
Which would be better to get if you've never used it (CS2, CS3 or Adobe)?
Can you download it on line?
TIA!

Re: Photoshop Questions
CS2 and CS3 are the professional versions and are big $$. $500+
I have PS Elements 5.0 and I am a beginner. Not sure what other versions are out there, but for a beginner, I would not suggest CS2. right??

Re: Photoshop Questions
I asked a few graphic artists I used to work with and they all told me to get Photoshop Elements. They said that unless I was going to be doing print ads or direct mail pieces, I would never use the functions that are in the full versions (CS2, CS3) that are not in Elements.
I would advise getting this book, it's really helpful IMO, especially since Elements does not come with a manual. Photoshop Elements 5, The Missing Manual

Is a free-ware version of Photoshop. It does everything that I can ever use that Photoshop does. Layers, color filtering, cloning, etc. It's a great way to start photo editing, since there's no $$ investment.

Re: Photoshop Questions
Right now I use CS2... we just upgraded to CS3 at school... i havent gotten a chance to work with it yet though... if you could get any, i would go for the CS3, because it is the newest, most updated version...

Re: Photoshop Questions
CS series is for working professionals...
if you are new to photoshop, buy the elements series which is meant for avg users with an intrest in art.
Most(All) of the tools you would use in CS are in Elements
