Photoshop Resolution question...RE: Invite (xp NFR)
Can someone point me in the right direction with this?
I've done countless invites/announcements in photoshop and i just finished my DD's 1st birthday progression invite. I saved it as a jpg and max quality and as a large file and it's still only 186kb and low quality for printing. My other invites i did were in the 300+range kb and printed beautifully.
Any tips??!!!?? I'm getting so frustrated!
Thank you!!!

Re: Photoshop Resolution question...RE: Invite (xp NFR)
Check the DPI of the file -
You should be at least 300dpi.
Image -> Image Size
Look where it says Resolution.

Should it be pixels/inch or pixels/cm?
constrain proportions? resample image (bicubic)?

Re: Photoshop Resolution question...RE: Invite (xp NFR)
It should be pixels per inch.
Tell me what it says and then I will tell you how to proceed.
ETA: You can't just change it to 300 to increase your resolution. You can decrease resolution that way but you can't increase it that way.
ETA2:
If it's less than 300 you'll have to start a new file and set your dimensions and set your resolution to 300. Copy all your elements from the original to the new higher res version. If everything still looks good, you should be good to go (make sure you click the "Print Size" button to view it in actual print size). But if not, you may have to make adjustments to make it work with the new resolution.

Re: Photoshop Resolution question...RE: Invite (xp NFR)
Ok so i increased the res to 300 pixels/inch(it was at 75 for some reason), left it at resample image-bicubic my document size is 5x7 and pixels dimesions are w2100xH1500
I saved it as a jpg and now it's a little over a meg. how and why my res was so low is beyond me.
THe pics i used in the invited are an average of 2 megs at least.
I'm good for printing at least now
Thank you!!!!

Ok good!
In future just remember to check that setting before you start any work - it's very important!
Oh and yes you should check Resample (bicubic) and contrain proportions when making modifications to resolution.
