placenta previa
help me encourage my friend.
she just found out that she has this and has been told no working out, only light walking.
she is really upset over this because besides the fact that she works out regularly and is afraid of losing muscle tone, gaining weight etc.. she also was looking forward to training and yoga to help with delivery.
of course she knows that this is best for the baby and she would never go against her doctors instructions, i just want to cheer her up.
any ideas?

Re: placenta previa
How many weeks is she? It often goes away around 12/14 weeks. Mine did. I was never told not to workout though. Just no intercourse.

Re: placenta previa
Did she bleed?
I have one & was on strict bedrest for a week. I'm glad to be able to be walking around and back to work (but another bleed & I'm on bedrest permanently). No sex, no running, no exercise, no lifting (with 2 kids, that part is the worst).
They do resolve (usually). I'm at 16 weeks though, and mine just recently bled big time.
She can catch up with her body after she has the baby.

Re: placenta previa
I only spotted so maybe that's why I wasn't on rest.
I agree with PP, sucks but it could be worse. Pregnancy is FAR from glamorous. She still may be able to go back to working out. It's not always permanent.

placenta previa
I couldn't work out at all because of my previous surgery and the risks, walking only. I didn't gain as much as I thought I would and I get to hold my beautiful DD in my arms in a week. Healthy baby is more important. I'll get healthy again as soon as I get the go-ahead after my c-section.

Re: placenta previa
thanks all. i spoke to her again and she seems a bit better today. like we all said, the baby is number one from now on! i spoke to her about eating clean and taking care of herself and that when the time is right she can get back into training.
thanks for the responses
