I had partial with my 1st and not with the other 2. My 1st and 2nd were posterior implantation and my 3rd was anterior. It's all about where the embryo implants. It doesn't have to do with what happened in the past.

Thanks for replying ...By any chance was your first a c-section ? I thought I remembered my OB saying that previa sometimes is more prone to happen following a c-section due to scaring, because the embryo has to locate a spot for implantation...
Both my DC's were c-sections, thats why I'm nervous ..

I had a low lying placenta which I'm not sure if that is the same as partial previa or right before it will become partial previa. We waited to see if it moved up and it did. I needed a c-section for other reasons and I'm due to have my second in a couple of months. I didn't have any placenta issues with the current pregnancy.
