Plan for next pre-school year WWYD
I'm due mid-October with #3 and assume I'll be home starting the beginning of the month (I deliver about 10 days early plus my boss kicks me out early). I don't know what to do about Ryan and preschool. I have him enrolled in a program but since I wasn't knocked up yet, I didn't get first pick and only got him in 2 days instead of 3. That I can deal with b/c they have a program for Colin 1/wk and it would only be offered on Tue/Thu (which is same as Ryan's program). No way, no how I'm bringing them on separate days of the week with a NB at home. Meaning if Ryan were in the 3 day M/W/F I'd sooner keep Colin home then have him in a Tu/Th when Ryan will be home. He won't even be 2 so I'm not too worried. I also plan to get them in something together one day a wk - when I see if I can manage it.
But what do I do about September?? Is it OK to start them late - I guess 3 wks since usually school starts what, like the 7th?
I can try to enlist my ILs help but MIL is always gone September in ireland and not sure FIL can manage both boys for a month on his own.
Thoughts?? I'm trying not to stress over this since it's out of my control but I was hoping to be PG the previous month but a wacky cycle prevented that

Re: Plan for next pre-school year WWYD
We didn't make the decision to put Kaydyn into the 2yo program this year until after the school year started. Pixie still had a spot in the Friday class so we put her in. She had no problem getting into the groove of things even though she started 3 weeks late. I think if it works out better for you then start him when you can.

Re: Plan for next pre-school year WWYD
I would and did start late. DD was born 9/30. I enrolled DS at age two in preschool to make sure that he had some socialization and was not stuck at home with a newborn. I ended up only having him go in once or twice in September because he got a cold after school had started, then it was the Jewish holidays and then he missed a week in October too. I think for the first two months of school he only attended one day a week. But I knew my child and I went off of his needs. He was nervous and cried for a while. He was the youngest one in the class. Once he got over his initial fear of school, he loved it. I think it is completely fine to send them later in the year. They will adapt.

The 2 yr old was on a Friday? They told me it would be Tue/Thu when they have the 2-day 3 yr old program.

I believe they have the 2yo program every day. By the time we called (in the middle of Sept) they only had a spot open in the Friday AM class...which worked out fine for us. Maybe they changed the programs around for next school year?

Ok, so essentially I should continue not to stress over this. If I keep him in daycare and start him in preschool when I am home, he'll (or they'll) be fine?? Thanks for the reassurrance
