Planning the Month.
This is going to sound complete stupid but here goes anyway.
I have been TTC for about 6 months. I would very much like to be pregnant. But if I wind up getting AF this month *warning stupidity straight ahead* I kind of want to suspend trying for next month because I don't want to have a baby in January.
Is there anyone else who kind of has an idea of a month that they would ideally like to give birth or is it just me?

Re: Planning the Month.
As long as my baby is healthy, I could care less what month they're born in. My SIL didn't want to be pg over the summer and wanted a May baby for both her first and 2nd- she started trying in september and low and behold- BOOM- IMMEDIATELY pregnant. Her 2nd one wan't planned, but once again- it just 'happened' to be a May baby. DH and I have been TTC for way too long w/ no success... so I'd be happy w/ any month of the year.

Re: Planning the Month.
I can understand what you are saying. I always wanted a fall baby, especially a Libra because I am one, but after trying for months I'll be happy any time it happens....

Re: Planning the Month.
I hear ya. If you want to skip January, go for it. I was thinking of starting again next month, but that would mean January. Both DH & my bday are in january. I also don't like having a january birthday, so would prefer not to have baby have a jan bday.
But then again... If I get a healthy baby, do I really care ? Not really....
It's great to plan things, but it doesn't always work out. Had I known I would have problems, I would have started trying two years ago. unfortunately many of us end up on the TTC board for to freakin' long

Re: Planning the Month.
I definitely understand where you are coming from. If I conceive this month, my due date will be Christmas Day, which would not be my first choice for giving birth!
However, we have been trying for a few months and we just want a healthy baby and it does not matter when he/she arrives

Re: Planning the Month.
given how hard it's been to get pregnant, and all the IF issues my husband and I are going through, I don't care what month I have a baby. Would it have been nice to be able to pick what month NOT to give birth..? Sure.. but life doesn't work that way.

Re: Planning the Month.
I never wanted to carry a baby through the summer. Guess who is carrying a baby through the summer? ME and QUITE grateful too. Why? Because my body wouldnt let me do it any other way. I will take the blessings where they come from and whenever they come. I have been through too much to be picky.

Re: Planning the Month.
I dont think that is silly. I was thinking the same thing about this month. That would mean a Dec. birth and i wasn thrilled w. that idea Im mean sure... i'd be happy to get PG and have a healthy baby etc etc, but besides all that, there are others "hopes" and "wishes"

Your information is incorrect.
Nagels rule- take the month that you're in, subtract 3 months and add 7 days, that's how you get your due date. If she conceived this month, it would be december, if she conceived next month, January. And if it were May, it would be February.

Re: Planning the Month.
ok the charting software that i use has me as "if i conceive this cycle, my due date would be november 27th"
so if i conceive next cycle (april) would be december
again, my sister conceived feb and had nephew oct 24
ETA: I use the charting software that came with TCOYF -

Re: Planning the Month.
I thought about this and I wasn't going to try this past month because my due date would be around December 1st and DD's 2nd birthday is December 6th, but I just want another baby, so we tried anyway.
It's not stupid though, skip next month if you don't want a January baby... but I have to tell you that January babies are awesome and become super cool adults (ie., me, lol )

Re: Planning the Month.
If the decision is right for you, then it makes sense. I was 2nd guessing a December baby, but it's so hard for us to stop trying, now that we've begun, and built..."momentum".
I think we all have our ideals, so it's just a matter of sticking to them or giving them up for the sake of getting PG ASAP.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Re: Planning the Month.
It's really a personal decision for you to make.
For me, there are definately months that I would prefer over others, but I would never skip a month of trying to prevent giving birth in a certain month. I really want to have another baby & I will take it in any month I can get it. If I get pregnant this cycle, I will be due right between Christmas & New Years. I say, please god, bring on the New Year baby!

Re: Planning the Month.
I would have preferred another late spring baby, but there was no way in hell I was going to wait almost a year to start trying again.
I don't see the issue in putting off one month though.

Re: Planning the Month.
I am going to start trying next month because I didnt want to have a baby in the first half of the school year. I figure this gives me at least seven months before i would even half to worry about giving birth right before school in the fall.
Having a january or december baby depends on what part of april you conceive. My o day is in the middle of april and that would give me a birth date of january 7- so if you are early april that would be an end of december baby.

Hmm this doesn't seem right. I conceived around 2/29-3/2 and my due date is between 11/18-11/21.

Re: Planning the Month.
I don't care what month I have a baby. All I want is a healthy baby, no matter what day of the year it is born. But you have to do what is right for you.
BTW - I am a January baby, its a great month to be born

Re: Planning the Month.
I understand what you are saying...
If I were to get preg. this time around... (Im supposed to "O" at the very end of the month- the begining of April)
Judging by my last period- Id be due 12/24-12/26- and I cant imagine not being able to be around for my son on Christmas..
Therefore- I plan to avoid DH around these dates- if it happens anyway- Ill be delighted, otherwise Im shooting for a January baby (which would be a late April early May canception)

Actually I think she is right- Had I gotten preg at the very beg. of this month (which is when I ovulated) my due date was going to be Nov.
Now I got my period a few days early- but are now expected to "O" between the 31st- andthe 4th (or something like that) giving me a Christmas baby!

I did IVF this cycle (March) and I know that if my IVF works, I would be due at the beginning of December
