Planting bulbs question
Does anyone have any recommendation of specific bulbs to plant with their normal blooming time? DH complained last year that everything bloomed at the same time and then died off in two weeks. He's agreed to help me plan only if everything blooms at different times throughout the season. thanks for your help

Re: Planting bulbs question
Plant tulips/crocuses (spell???) and daffodils in the fall for the spring.
Then in the spring, buy some annuals and plant them around and they bloom until the first frost hits in fall.

Re: Planting bulbs question
I am going to plant my tulips crocuses and daffodils in early to mid october. Then, once those die off in the spring I will plant my annuals- I usually plant them sometime in may. -- around mothers day.

Re: Planting bulbs question
In my yard, crocus comes up first, then daffodils, then tulips, then grape hyacinths, then daylilies. But the amount of time from crocus to daylilies is only about two months - bulbs just don't last that long.
Some of the fancier garden shops and catalogs have "long lasting" bulbs that might give you the results you want.

Re: Planting bulbs question
Actually, the RT's (related threads) at the bottom of this page has a bunch of recent suggestions on this.
Different tulips bloom at different times. You can plan ahead and scatter their blooming times so you have something always blooming for a month.
I don't think any of the other spring bulbs are like that though, with different bloom times.
