Plasma and TV stand question?

We have a 50 inch plasma mounted--we are currently looking for a unit for underneath--should the unit come past the TV or line up with the TV-I think it should come past but my DH said it doesnt matter-does anyone have any pics what it looks like?? And if you have any suggestions where we can find a nice cherrywood one but not too $$$--TIA!

I don't have any pictures because we plan on getting a larger TV once we move in, but I would agree with you that the stand should come past the TV.

Re: Plasma and TV stand question?

My parents have a 58 inch plasma & have it on the stand. The TV hangs over the edges a bit but you have to remember that the stand to the TV is truly the only thing that is needed to go on the stand. The support is on the TV stand attached to the tv. They do sell stands for the plasma's that are associated with their size. Also if the TV is going on a stand, you still need to anchor the TV to the wall so that in case something hits into the stand, the TV does not tip forward!

When you say your TV is mounted, is it mounted on the wall or a stand? We have a 50" plasma with a stand that we purchased at BestBuy Magnolia Theater. With this stand you can sit the TV on top of the stand providing you have a mount for the TV or you can mount the TV on the wall with the cabinet beneath as we did. Here's a pic of ours..

Re: Plasma and TV stand question?

We have our 46' mounted on the wall. We wanted something at about 3ft. because we didn't want our toddler climbing on it and touching the tv. We found a really nice media console at Thomasville. Here's the link to what we got. I don't have any pics right now, but if you're interested in the visual, I'd gladly take a pic. Thomasville
