Play Dates?
Just curious, how are you feeling about play dates these days? Are you still sticking strictly to your "pods" or are you ready to branch back out?
TIA

Play Dates?
We've done a couple outside of our pod recently. Well, we really didn't ever have a pod but we had a family we were close with throughout quarantine. People are feeling more comfortable now that they are vaccinated.
I am not reaching out myself to schedule - I'm letting others reach out to me.

Re: Play Dates?
No we are not sticking to pods - my daughter has a playdate here now and one of my other kids is at a playdate. We had covid but even before that we were having playdates.

Re: Play Dates?
My daughter has been playing with the same friends she has since May. Does that make it a pod? I have no idea- all I know is they are 3 besties and have done everything from sleep overs to gymnastic and dance class to dinners out to everything in between since May when we decided we had enough and that our chidlren's mental health was more at risk than any risk they would have if they contracted Covid. We also had a few other kids mixed in over the summer out of boredom. Also her cousins since May.
I don't' do the "pod" thing.. yet another new term from 2020 that I can do to never hear again
Amazingly- not one of us got sick.

Play Dates?
We had a play date outside yesterday. We haven’t had a play date since the fall. My DH and I are both fully vaccinated so we feel comfortable with outside meet ups.

Play Dates?
All play dates all the time. Considering the depression suffered by them last March and April, I felt mental well-being was more important

Play Dates?
Never had a pod from the beginning. She's been in school and dance school so play dates where happening for a long time. Wasn't going to cause undue stress on my child.

Play Dates?
My kids have been having play dates for a while now. They do activities outside of school too
I actually turned down a play date because the mom wanted my child to wear a mask while their child came to my house to play outside. I’m over it all.

I would be fine with outdoor play dates but a majority of their school friends are not allowed to have play dates right now so the opportunity isn't there. We have a lot of children on our block and they are allowed to play with them but outdoors only.

Play Dates?
My kids have outdoor playdates. I rarely hosted indoor play dates prior to COVID though, as I hate having other people in my house.

Once in awhile we have an outdoor playdate with masks, but nothing indoors yet.

Same. Now that it's getting nicer they've been meeting at the park for basketball and handball. But that's mostly it. Masks are required.
ETA - he did go to a roller skating party the other day but it was a relatively small group of people we know don't go that far.

Re: Play Dates?
We have outside playdates only. Too many close calls where kids were "exposed" and then had to quarantine and I had to get the call saying they found out their kid was exposed after our kids got together and then had to quarantine (no school 2 weeks or sports activities). Just easier not to have to put my kids through all that. DH and I are vaccinated, but don't want our kids to miss anything else. We already had an incident on the bus where both boys in 2 different schools had Covid and all the kids around them including my boys had to quarantine. No school and sports. It sucked.

Play Dates?
I still prefer outdoor playdates or meeting up at a park, so that’s what we’ve been doing since last summer.

Re: Play Dates?
We never did pods but I also never did play date too much before all this.
With that said they have had play dates inside and outside with whoever they wanted too.

Re: Play Dates?
We recently started branching out. Now that sports are in full swing and we are seeing a lot of people, I get the sense that many are "over it" and just want some normalcy.

Play Dates?
I've never been a huge fan of play dates with kids outside of family/family friends so my opinion may be skewed. That said we have done playdates with family and family friends that we know take precautions and are not reckless.
