Playtex drop ins-nipple question
If you use these, when will/did you change from the slow flow nipple? We tried to move DS a few times, but he always choked so we just stuck with the slow flow. he is now 11 months and these still work fine from him. Anyone else experience this? LOL it's funny because my MIL was like, women don't change their nipples, why do it for a bottle?

Re: Playtex drop ins-nipple question
I think DS was on the slow flow for a LONG time. I also tried to move up and it was too much for him.
To be honest, if we did change (I have NO memory) to the fast flow, we didn't use them for long b/c he changed over to sippy cups

Re: Playtex drop ins-nipple question
I thought that maybe Abby was struggling with a slow flow nipple because she doesn't eat a lot and is rather petite (for someone with my genes ) so I asked the doctor about switching. He said she was gaining consistently enough and that if it wasn't broke, don't fix it. I did it once and it was a mess. She was dribbling all over the place. He was right. She did not mean it.

Re: Playtex drop ins-nipple question
We moved Emerson to the medium flow nipple at about 3-3 1/2 months. She was getting frustrated with the slow flow nipples and it was a pain to feed her. She choked a little the first 2-3 times but then she adjusted to the new flow and she loved it. She was/is more content now with the faster nipple. Those slow nipples are sooooooooooo slow. She cut her bottle time in half!!

This is DS too, although we are not off the bottle yet.
DS is 14 months old and I still use the slow flow. He can take the medium of even fast but I dont see why change. Plus honestly now that he chooses to walk around and play while drinking his bottle if I put a higher flow nipple on, I just have to follow him around cleaning up the drips he leaves all over hte place!

DS is on slow nipple ~ your mil is right ~ when your BF your nipple doesn't change... If it works for your son I would stay with what works!
