Playtex drop ins.. question..

How do you get the air out of those things.. Its soo hard, and cant get my hand into the tube.. I started using a piece to my hand pump and sticking that into it.

Then how do you keep the air out?? Once I let go of bottle it starts to refill with air..Chat Icon

Am I missing something with this??? I just dont get these things.. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Playtex drop ins.. question..

When I would first fill it, since you cant reach all the way in, unless you have the worlds tiniest hands, I would use a spoon or something and push it all the way up until a little formula came out of the top. I didnt really have a problem with it refilling with air, but keep a spoon handy so you can keep getting the air out.

Re: Playtex drop ins.. question..

I used a wooden spoon or the remote to my TVChat Icon also, once the air is out I never turn it upright. I keep the cap on the table next to me and if I put it down, i put it upside down in the cap.

Re: Playtex drop ins.. question..

The Tivo Remote fits perfectly!Chat Icon or a wooden spoon. Once you push the air out and put in in the babies mouth the air shouldnt come back in. If you stop to burp the baby I always laid the bottle on its side so I didnt have to push the air out again.

Ok im just glad to hear its just not me.. I see open slots in the sides.. and was wondering if I was missing something that was supposed to go with these bottles. Ill have to keep the cap on hand and try that. Thanks

Re: Playtex drop ins.. question..

Also wanted to add... last night after asking this. I found a bottle still in box, must have been a free sample one I got. So I looked at directions to see if it mentioned how.. all it says is Squeeze bottom bag to release air..Chat Icon How in the world do you squeeze bottom when its covered by the plastic tube??? Seriously playtex??

Re: Playtex drop ins.. question..

i use a wooden spoon or remote control just like the above posters..

Then when i'm burping ds i put the bottle on its side and the air stays in.

i finally am able to get the air out without the wooden spoon- i hold the bottle sideways and i am able to get all the air out.

Re: Playtex drop ins.. question..

I don't take the air out. I used to try and it would spill all over. I then read the directions it says "if disered" (sp?). The bag collapses as she drinks anyways. I know years ago moms has to squeeze the bags but now they make them collapsible.

You're welcome. Chat Icon Just cover the nipple with a paper towel as you push the air out or formula will spray everywhere. Chat Icon

HAHA...me too and then I found it to be too much of a pain. I am currently using the Playtex Ventair....and they work great - just have to do more cleaning to the bottles!!
