Please be careful
My aunt and uncle just came back from Bermuda and were the victims of violence while there. They were in a small bungalow type house and at 3am 2 men broke in and attacked them. They were hurt badly (broken nose, ribs, cheeks, etc.) but will hopefully be fine. Just please make sure that wherever you go you try to be safe.

That's awful. :( Glad they are home safe and sound now.
Is there something they could have done in hindsight to prevent this? (i.e. something we as travelers can take away from this experience as well ...)

Thanks all!
The only thing in hindsight..would be to maybe not stay in a small hut not attached to the actual hotel. I will only stay in a hotel now..not in a private little hut. It just stinks that it all happened.

Wow, sorry to hear that. That is unusual of Bermuda too, they have a very low crime rate. What resort were they staying at?

I agree. We went to Bermuda 13 years ago and it was rated the lowest for crime.
