Please explain to me..........
how I can watch every single thing I eat for 3 weeks and not lose 1 single pound! I'm talking about eating an apple for breakfast, some soup broth for lunch,a cup of pasta w/spinich for dinner, and drinking water all day long...What's wrong with me? why can't I lose any weight? I'm so upset...

i agree. You might not be eating enough. If you don't eat enough your body goes into starvation mode and holds onto everything it can get. You could end up slowing down your metabolism.

Re: Please explain to me..........
First of all I am sorry you are upset. Weight loss is a fustrating process.
If all you are eating is what you listed out then you may not be eating enough. I know on WWs that is much less points than required for even the smallest person. Are you working out too?.
Can I suggest to add protein with each meal (grilled chicken, shrimp, etc) and some more veggies as snacks throughout the day.
I am not sure how much you have to lose but the more you need to lose the more you need to eat.
Good luck and try not to be discouraged.

If I eat more, I gain weight.....I've gained 30 pounds over the past 8 months and I don't know why...I don't thing I was eating that much more then I use to.... It's like after every meal I gain.......and I don't eat junk..no cookies,no cake, nothing.....now thatI have started keeping a journal I see how little I'm eating and still not losing anything..how is this possible?

TY........I do try and mix it up...one morning I'll have a banana w/a tablespoon of PB for protein....I eat small healthy snacks during the day...a few baby carrots, a few cashews, handful of cheerios or cornflakes....I've had 1/2 subway chicken sandwhich for lunch ,shrimp w/broccili for dinner...just small portions..are there any diet books that are helpful? why is my body so stubborn....

I would change the foods you are eating. How about weight control oatmeal for breakfast, a salad and protein for lunch, and say grilled chicken and brown rice for dinner? Pasta is easy to overdo...You may be starving by the time you get to dinner and then be eating way over 1 portion worth. Are you also working out? Just from looking at what you are eating though, you are not eating enough protein at all.

This list is very different than what you originally posted. On the surface none of it is horrible, but it's hard to say without knowing everything you ate. You might want to go see a nutritionist. Like cashews...Good protein, but VERY high in calories...A few is good, but a few several times a day can add up. Subway chicken sandwich is OK, but was there mayo? Cheese? On regular bread or whole wheat? What extra toppings? You don't have to answer these questions, but I'm just saying that sometimes it appears to be healthy when it isn't. In college I tried the Special K diet, and didn't lose anything and couldn't figure out why...Turns out I was eating like 2x the serving size at each meal! So sometimes what seems very healthy can be misleading when you eat too much of a good thing.

Re: Please explain to me..........
If you have not changed your eating habits drastically, yet gained 30 lbs in the last year, you should see a Dr.
I have a hypoactive thyroid and that's one of the first symptoms .........
Can't hurt to get checked out either way, maybe he/she could recommend a nutritionist to help you with your individual challenges and body type - Not all diets are perfect for all people
Are you working out at all?? For me, that is the ONLY way I lose weight - I can do WW, No Carb, starvation - nothing works unless I'm also working out - It's just the way my body is .........
Good Luck !! I know it's frustrating

ITA-sounds like a thyroid issue. Even though the original menu you posted is def. not enough calories/protein you would still lose weight, at least in rhe beginning until your body went into starvation mode...

Though I will say it is very easy to have the weight creep up on you when you first get married. I found I took larger portions because DH did. Ate more frequently because DH snacked at night and mid-afternoon...All these things were relatively minor, but added up to quite a bit. When the dr. asked me I said the weight gain was unexplained, but after all the tests came back fine I realized that all these small things really add up. Definitely good to get checked, but it might just eating a little bit more, all the time.

I agree that these are small things, but I would consider this changing my eating habits (Which I did after getting married too ........)

Oh it's totally changing eating habits. I just meant that sometimes it's easy to respond that your diet hasn't become drastically worse, when the little things add up to a major diet change.
