Please help a mom in need...
One of our own LIF ladies, Elaine (sleepie76), lost her entire house and all of her belongings last week in a fire. They literally walked away with only the clothes on their backs
Right now they are staying in a hotel while they find housing, but I thought we could collect items to help her and her family. She has a DD who is almost 3, and a DS who is almost 2. Space is limited right now, so I think gift cards would be best, but she also needs diapers (size 4), wipes, pull ups (4T/5T), and fall clothes for both of her kids (DD is 4T/5T, DS is 2T). The kids also lost all of their toys, so I think smaller toy donations would help as well.
I've never organized anything like this before, but I know how wonderful the LIF community can be. If anyone would like to donate anything, please FM me so we can arrange pick up/drop off.
Here are links to her post: Post
And a local newspaper article:
Article
TIA
UPDATE: we have two drop off locations, on in Lynbrook and one in Lindenhurst. FM for addresses!

Re: Please help a mom in need...
We just moved and I have ALL of DS' old clothes & toys - I am in the process of unpacking and sorting things - I am fairly certain we'll have stuff for her.
How can we get this to her??

Does she or her DH need any clothes? I'm cleaning out my closet next week and I planned on donating a ton. If so, what sizes? I can't help with any baby stuff since mine are much younger. i am so very sorry this happened.

Re: Please help a mom in need...
I would be happy to host an online Scentsy fundraising party. I donate 100% of my commission from the party to the person in need. I can either send them the cash or buy gift cards with the proceeds.
Would they be comfortable with something like that?

Re: Please help a mom in need...
I was going to clean out my closets (because I gained weight grrr) and I have a ton of very gently worn items (good brands too -Gap, Ann Taylor Loft etc). Was going to donate but if she would like them please let me know. I don't know if she needs it but I am happy to send it.

Please help a mom in need...
I'd like to donate . I can pick up the pull uPs / diapers and bring them to lynbrook or I can ship directly from amazon. What's easier? I might also have some girl clothing size 24 months to 3t.

Re: Please help a mom in need...
Maybe set up an amazon registry? That way we can send her what she really needs and it makes it a little easier if we can just order it online and get it to her quicker.
