I give Motrin first. If the fever doesn't go down below 101 by an hour or two later, I give Tylenol then.

Then, if the fever doesn't go down, I repeat the Motrin again 6 hours later, and then the Tylenol again if the fever hasn't gone done.

Yep-just make sure you are only givoing Tyleonol every 4 and motrin every 6-8

Right - I give the Motrin every 6 hours, followed by the Tylenol if necessary.

I have found that unless DS is running a high fever for several days (like with Roseola or something) the Motrin/Tylenol combo usually knocks it out in a day or so.

Thanks again this was really helpful. He was diagnosed with an ear infection and is running a high fever 103.6 just tylenol isn't really helping. His doctor is aware and wants us to play it out till tomorrow. Thanks for you well wishes this poor kid has been sick so much.

Yep I agree.

The mix sounded scary at first for me but its a lifesaver!
