Please help me understand this-Snow on top of car
So I was driving today and saw a car that was all cleaned off except for 4-5 inches of snow on top
But this is not the reason for my post.
I am wondering: How did the snow not wash away with the rain this weekend? Or with the sun? Or just the heat from driving the car?
How was there that much snow still on that roof?

My driveway gets NO sun. I didn't have much rain either.

I never thought about it being frozen on. Now that I think of it, maybe the rain just helped ice it over.
It just seemed out of place when so much of the snow on cars seems to have melted thus far.

Okay, I am not alone! It really DOES seem out of place since the sun was shining and it hasn't snowed in a week or so...
Okay, now that I got that out of my system...

Maybe they were driving from upstate or somewhere where there has been snow recently?

Funny, but the plates were actually FLORIDA. It was an older man driving. I wondered if they drove here from down there and someone along the way there was snow. Maybe they were visiting other family upstate or somewhere colder and then came to NY.
I know it is not a big deal, so please don't think I am complaining. I was just confused since it seemed out of place since our last snow was last week.

I don't think you're complaining at all.
I have family in GA and they mentioned they had snow this week. If the car had plates from FL that would make sense.

Re: Please help me understand this-Snow on top of car
I have a car in my driveway that we rarely drive. It's sitting in a spot that gets practically no sun (the house shades that spot). It still has at least a foot of snow on the roof. I can see how it happens, but I would never drive it that way!!
