Please help-miscarriage questions
I was told Saturday that my baby is not growing and that I would miscarry. My RE thinks I will miscarry naturally "soon" and not need a D&C. The waiting is terrible. How long did it take to miscarry? Also, last night I had horrible cramps, to the point that I could not move. They came in waves. I even called my RE and he was sure I would start to bleed within the next 24 hours. I am still not even spotting and the cramps are now gone. I still have some pain in my abdomen but no cramping. Has anyone had this? I am just so devastated by the loss plus I am scared and don't know what is going on with my body. The waiting is terrible.

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
Did your RE indicate how long he would let you wait before considering a D&C?
When I miscarried at 7 weeks, the cramps started that morning. By the late afternoon they were unbearable, and that's when I rushed home, and the bleeding started. I passed some really large clots and after that the cramping subsided, and the bleeding stopped within a day or two

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
I'm so sorry Amanda. I started to bleed just short of a week later. I had still been on the PIO shots, and was told once I stopped it could take up to 5 days. I had some very slight spotting and started to cramp a couple of days before started to bleed. When we first found out I was hoping it would happen right away, waiting was torture for me.

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
Oh Amanda...
I never waited to miscarry. I always did the D&C, although I probably shouldn't have. I just wanted to find out what was wrong, exactly. One time I did get the report back and found out the issue, the other time they just got my tissue in the biopsy.
I know you want this overwith, which is why I decided to do the D&C. Only time will tell how long it will take. I was on progesterone support (suppositories) and was off of them for over a week and I didn't miscarry. It depends on how high your levels are and how quickly they drop.
I'm so sorry you're going through this

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
I had a D&C, so can't offer advice. I am keeping you in my constant thoughts. Not sure if you posted this question on the miscarriage board, but I know there are quite a few that can answer your question.

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
I did a D & C, but I started miscarrying naturally first. I actually started spotting first and then the unbearable cramps started. I was actually laying in the fetal position on my bed rocking back and forth and hysterically crying because I was in so much pain. I was 8 weeks.
I am truly sorry for your loss and will pray for your strength.

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
Thanks girls. My RE thinks its better for me to miscarry naturally. At the time I agreed but now this waiting is torture. I just want to be done and have closure. Plus the cramps were terrible last night. I cannot imagine them being worse than that but since I did not miscarry yet I guess they will be.

Maybe you ought to ask Dr. B if you can have a D&C, just to get it overwith. You don't have any incompetent cervix issues, do you?

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
I'm trying to remember all the specifics but I can't. I do know it took longer than I thought, about 5 days to start bleeding after I stopped all my meds. I also remember it was painful but I'm not sure if I had cramping before.

Re: Please help-miscarriage questions
I had 2 natural miscarriages after chemical pregnancies. As I recall, the bleeding started when my beta and progesterone dropped low enough for a natural m/c to occur. It took about 5 days and then I bled for 7.
ETA: I think a natural m/c is preferable because the cervix doesn't have to be dilated for the D&C procedure.
