Re: please help the first trimester ladies! m/s....
my "routine" varies - some days i need to eat as soon as i wake up, and a bowl of cereal usually does the trick. other days i just drink some juice until the feeling subsides.
most of the time though the nausea doesn't hit me until i am at work, and then i just eat some ritz crackers or suck on a peppermint candy and i feel better.
don't let yourself get too hungry or the feeling will be worse - and then you won't want to eat anything!

I suck on Jolly ranchers all day long. I havent thrown up yet but i have major aversions to smells and certain foods. The evenings seem like the worst.

I was also so bad that I was on zofran, It helped somewhat but at times i still puked. The only thing with zofran was that i got soooooooo constipated. I think i rather have been vomiting then go through the constipation so I am off it right now. water makes me vomit on an empty stomach, so i have to snack constantly usually on potato chips or saltines, getting sick of them though...

Re: please help the first trimester ladies! m/s....
My routine definately varies. Some mornings I have to eat saltines the minute I open my eyes (I keep a pack in my nightstand) and other mornings it's straight to the bathroom.
The past few mornings I've felt good, no vomitting but just slight nausea.
I find myself eating saltines, dry cheerios, bagels, english muffins and peppermint candies.
Today I just feel constantly nausous. I've had some toast this morning and a bagel for lunch but the feeling is not fading

how did everyone go to work and get stuff done? did you get used to waking up early and settling your stomach before going in?

you just kind of do it.
i remember before i got PG i could not understand how the world keep going when i felt so crappy
it's easier if you tell someone like your immediate supervisor (i think you said you already did) so that if you are quiet one day or need extra time to get work done they know the reason why.
i can finally drink water again and that helps a lot. for some reason so does eating chocolate!! try and get some ginger ale, that should help settle you down. and don't forget to take many LIF breaks!!!
ETA: i just noticed "barfy warfy"

Re: please help the first trimester ladies! m/s....
my routine was the minute i got up i started eating pretzels or saltines i put them right by my bed.....i know u dont want them FORCE THEM DOWN and i ate them the whole time i got ready for work and before i got downstairs to make breakfast....i had an emergency stash in the car glove compartment and my desk at work as well as bringing a shmorgesboard (sp...lol) of food for lunch so that im nonstop eating throughout the day....fruits...jello...100 cal pacs...etc.....i now have night sickness so things are a lil different but that routine worked for me

Re: please help the first trimester ladies! m/s....
thanks everyone for your advice!
I totally was thrown off my routine this morning.... that obviously can't continue...
I'm definitely going out and buying saltines tonight, and will drink lots of water while munching. I think that will work for me, at least right now, when it's sort of bad, but not terrible

I wake up my normal time and just take my time. At work I have a variety of snacks that I munch on during the day. Before I leave I pop a peppermint candy and that lasts until I get to the office so I dont get sick while traveling.
I might tell my supervisor soon because lately i've been finding myself having the dry heaves while at my desk and dont want any concern if she seems me do the marathon dash past her desk to the ladies room

Everyone is different so you will get lots of advice on what to try.
For me each day was different also. What worked one day didn't another. Most days gingerale and animal crackers or crackers helped at least a bit.
Make sure you eat something small every few hours. It helps to control the morning sickness a bit.
Mint, Ginger and citrus are all natural remedies to ease nausea. Hang in there for most of us it eases up after the first trismester.

Re: please help the first trimester ladies! m/s....
hang in there, darlin'! for most people it's not a permanent state, so it will pass! i tried to stay in bed as long as possible, because moving around made me nauseous. tried to eat crackers or something before rising. sour things really made me feel better.

Re: please help the first trimester ladies! m/s....
I bought sea bands and used those... they helped a little
I also used preggie pops which for me were a godsend!
I nibbled on ginger which I got at the sushi place, drank flat room temp coca-cola, and nibbled on saltines.
