 I am so sorry. This is one of my biggest fears. My parents live on the water and I am soooo paranoid.

 How truly awful.
I actually read that your child is safer in a home with a gun than one with a pool. It is just too easy for a child to fall into or jump into a pool. A gun is harder to load, figure out, etc...
I actually don't want a pool because it is just too nerve wracking.
Anna= I don't blame you for not wanting a pool GTG. Someone at my gym said that they hired a life guard for a party that they were having. I thought that was a great idea.

Michele, we also discussed several times, that if we ever have a big party/BBQ, we would def hire a lifeguard (or 2 !) So worth the peace of mind. YEs there are "so many adults around" when you have a BBQ but everyone gets caught up in their own conversations... its only natural, and so scary 
My SILs best friend, Happy ending, thank God, but last year, her feisty "Terrible 2's" middle child, they were at a friends house, hubbies and wives w the kids. and the pool was fenced in, well her daughter supposedly DUG A HOLE under the fence  and managed to get herself to standing on the DIVING BOARD  THANK GODDD when they saw her, they were able to grab her in time....
I will never say "wasnt anyone watching" because these things happen to anyone.....
but sooo scary, and gives us a quick reality check...
