please join me and vent.... issues with having a large baby
Fine, DS is mutant tall..... he's totally off the charts.... There are serious logistical issues with having a large baby...
1) onesies only go up to 24 months DS is 5 1/2 months old, and he's already wearing 24 mo onesies... I found size 3T on amazon, but they're $8 EACH (not a multipack)
2) exersaucers.... baby shouldn't use them until he can sit upright on his own... height limit 30"... uhhh, DS is just about sitting on his own and he's 29.5" obviously not a sound investment for us.
3) sleep sacks... he's already in size XL... after that, I guess we'll have to stalk down the footie sleep sacks? I've never seen them in stores....
4) carseats... nevermind infant seats... he's been out of those for over a month! I'm worried that there isn't enough legroom to keep his carseat facing backwards until he's 12 mo... He's already touching the seat back with his feet now!
I could go on and on obviously...
please feel free to vent your frustrations for having a baby that's too tall, too short, too heavy, or too light here I already feel a bit better!

i jsut wanted to let you know theres no issue with a kids feet touching backseat, or even being squashed against backseat, or him sitting with legs crossed. check out car seat lady- google, nto sure of website- but she has pics of kids who stayed REAR facing until age 2, even beyond, in britax marathons (which have a VERY tall RF height and weight)

stangers come up to your child and think they're at least a year older than what they actually are and start critizing the way they act for their age.
I had this happen to me in target last night when my son was babbling and the cashier told him that he was old enough to use his words.

that's good to hear with the carseats, because I'm not sure what I would have done.... he'll easily be a 4T by 12 mo.....
I know DS will also get comments like that in the future

I hate when people assume children are a certain age!

Re: please join me and vent.... issues with having a large baby
My daughter is tall, where she gets it I don't know. Most people do not believe that she is only 3, well almost 4.
My Squishy has been huge since he was 2 weeks old. (He was smaller than my daughter at birth but shot right up) and no believes, looking at him that he is under 1 year, seeing him move you can tell though.
I sympathize and people are just rude in general and cashiers for whatever reason seem to be the worst offenders!!

Re: please join me and vent.... issues with having a large baby
My second DD is in the 95th% for everything. People always when I tell them she's just 4.5 months old. At 17 pounds, she weighs just 6 pounds less than her 21 month old sister!
She's been in 6 month clothes for over a month, and starting to get into 9 month stuff. Than goodness I didn't give away my older DD's stuff (almost did because her stuff is all opposite season).

I would have told her she was apparently dumb enough to not know better......

Re: please join me and vent.... issues with having a large baby
DS is in the 95th % for height. he is 6 months old, has no teeth and needs support to sit up. another mommy asked if DS wanted Cheerios LOL My sister had to tell her, no he is only 6 months. her DC was 10 months nad the same lenght as DS .
so many times I see babies and think they are 2-3 months old and they are really 5-7 months (closer to DS age)

That is crazy! What if, God forbid, someone's baby wasn't "using their words" because they had a learning disability? It's no one's place to make a judgement like that!

I would have said "You know what, you are right. And the first words I'm going to teach him are "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, B!TCH!"
Or something like that.
