Please, please recommend a good book to read on a looong flight
DD and I will be flying overseas in May, the flight is 13+hrs with a layover (actually one 3hr and one 45 min layover). I need a book that I can read while on the plane and while waiting to board (when DD is watching her shows or napping)
Thank you in advance

I love Gone With the Wind (and it's 1,100 pages )
Some of Jodi Piccoult's novels are easy to get into and would likely take a long time- I esp like Nineteen Minutes or My Sister's Keeper.
Nelson DeMille's The Gold Coast is another favorite.

Re: Please, please recommend a good book to read on a looong flight
i just went away, this past weekend. i had lay overs in both directions. i did a combination of things: i knit (i know, not everyone on here does) and i read "the princess bride". i didn't even notice the lengthy lay over in atlanta.
i'm a big fan of the movie, and i'm loving the book. mind you, i read slow, so i didn't finish it, but i loved every minute of it

I LOOOOOVED the Pillars of Earth, by Ken Follett....super long.
The sequel, World without End was really good too.

South of Broad- Pat Conroy, long but it flies by, I loved it. Crosswords are helpful too.

The Help is a great book!
I would also like to recommend As the Crow Flies by Jeffrey Archer. I read it years and years ago and it still stands as one of my favorite all time books - great storytelling at its best.

I like most books by Susan Isaacs-great for a long flight because it's easy to read, engaging yet well written and thought provoking but without being overly complicated.
