Please recc your top of stairs gate Updated - Does anyone have the Stylish & Secure Extra Tall Walk-Thru Gate or configure gate from OneStepAhead
I want one that isn't pressure mounted - one that screws into the wall. Also one that is VERY difficult to figure out and one that will last as long as possible age wise. I've looked at a million and the reviews are mixed for all of them! TIA!
ETA: Does anyone have the Stylish & Secure Extra Tall Walk-Thru Gate or configure gate from ONe Step Ahead? Would either keep out a toddler (32+ inches tall) that figures out gates quickly? TIA!

Re: Please recc your top of stairs gate good for crafty toddler
Mine was recently recalled, so I cannot recommend it , but just wanted to say that pressure-mounted gates are never recommended for the top of the stairs. Just FYI.

I have the Evenflo Easy Step walk through gate. I have it in the hallway right before the stairs though and it's pressure mounted. Doesn't budge and DD hasn't figured out how to open it thus far (22.5 mos). It might come with the hardware to mount it, I'm not sure.

I have a Kidco Gate and love it. DS is almost 3 and has no clue how to open it

Bumping b/c I am still having trouble with this - I have read the reviews of the ones on one step ahead and BRU and it seems like they all have issues!

i have a configure gate with added panels. it wraps around my wrought iron banister so that the gate is mounted to 2 walls which are not opposite each other.
we've had it for over 5 years. older one is now 6. by the time he was able to open the gate he was able to walk down the stairs. really, the main reason to have it up, still yet, is to keep him from tripping and falling down the stairs in the middle of the night if he goes wandering.
the baby is now 15 months and hasn't got a clue about opening it or anything else.
i've been very happy with the gate. we did get 2 extension pieices (the smaller 18 inch or whatever it was.. not the full size extension pieces, so it makes a nice tight turn around the railing to hook into the wall without eating up tons of my top landing) the smaller exntension pieces are hard to find though.
