Please recommend a book on classroom management!
I volunteer as a CCD teacher and though today is the last day, I think I will be doing it again next year. My biggest struggle has been classroom management with such little ones (First grade..will be second grade next year). I need some ideas about classroom management and structure. I want to be much better prepared next year!

First of all, you can always ask people what they do.
Second of all, I love Classroom Management in Pictures by Scholastic. So many ideas!

I just took a TEI class called Effective Classroom Management - I loved the book! It was called _How to be an Effective Teacher - the First Days of School by Harry and Rosemary Wong. I think that any of the Wong's books on classroom management are great!

I like any of the Lee Cantor books
I find a lot of Canter's techniques helpful in middle school.
There is also another book I have read-I forget the authors-but it is called "Teaching with Love and Logic."
Basically it shows you how to make kids understand that their behaviors (and consequences) are their choice. It has a lot of interesting anecdotals and scenarios.
