Please recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Boston

looking for 4/19-20 ...

We want to stay in the city, not on the outskirts, and not near the airport.

Thanks!

Re: Please recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Boston

It is very expensive to stay there. We came back last week, and stayed at The Marriott in Burlington, 7 miles from Boston. I am glad we did. We spoke to people and they said they regretted staying in the city, it was very noisy at night and the rooms were small. We got ours thru hotels.com and it included an amazing free breakfast every day. We got a great deal. HTH

This is going to be a tough time too because the marathon is on that Monday, 4/21 and the city will be totally flooded. At this point, you might have trouble getting a room.

i'm considering a marriot and westin about 8 miles away... that wasn't a pain? How'd you get into the city - park, etc?

Thanks Chat Icon

Re: Please recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Boston

If you are considering staying outside the city, I would stay somewhere on the T...I went to school in Boston and when we visit now, we stay at the Marriott Newton or Holiday Inn Brookline...then we can use the T to travel the city and not have to deal with parking, etc.

There was a bus by our hotel or we parked and paid for the garage.

I went to Waltham which is right outside of Boston recently and stayed at a Westin. DH and I Chat Icon d it--- but we had our own car, so it wasn't a big deal. They had a small but nice pool and hot tob/sauna... and the room was really nice and the bed was the MOST comfortable bed I've EVER slept in!!!

What about in Brookline? It's on the T line into the city.

(I can't remember what hotel we stayed at when my brother lived there ... it may have been a Holiday Inn ... but again, ages ago).

Try Priceline - we used it a few years ago and named our own price and stayed at the Hyatt in the financial district and were very happy there!

Re: Please recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Boston

I nkow you said the city...but what about Cambridge?

a close family friend runs a B &B less than a 10 minute walk from Harvard Square Station, right across the river.

we've stayed there a few times and LOVE it. it's very convenient and the price is ridicuouls (I *think* it's $75 per night)

I can see if she'll be around that weekend and it she has availability...but only for you Chat Icon
