Please recommend your bank for refinancing
Our mortgage is through WAMU (now Chase). I feel like we are really getting the run around from them on refinancing and we want to compare with other banks.
Any recommendations?

I'm in the same boat.
I'm going to try Wells Fargo, NEFCU and BoA.
I may also try some online banks.

Let me know if you have any luck. I almost went with Wells Fargo originally but at the time their closing costs were high. I might call them and see what they can do for us.

if you switch banks you will pay mortgage recording tax which is part of your closing costs. You will find that if you go to any other bank besides Chase or Wamu..that's a NYS thing. Blows.
They key is to find a lender who is willing to adjust fees and rates to help you make the switch.
From what I'm reading the credit markets are so tight. It's hard to get a loan or to refinance.
I'm nervous..I have great credit but Amex lowered my credit limit on my blue card and I'm concerned it hit my credit hard.

My dh is a mortgage broker. If you want I can give you his # and he can compare all the different banks for you and find the best deal. He just refinanced a bunch of our friends and got them awesome deals. Let me know and good luck

We use HSBC. We reviewed refinancing, but it didn't work for us timing wise.
