Please recommend your Boston Terrier Breeder
Hi!! I am a regular poster on the Home board, but this is my first post on the Pets board
Now that DH and I are moving into a bigger home, we are looking to expand our family. We have done a ton of research and have decided that a Boston Terrier is the perfect pooch for us! I see that alot of you have BT's, and I was hoping that you can recommend your breeder!!
TIA!
Samantha

Re: Please recommend your Boston Terrier Breeder
I do not know any breeders, but you could always try to do a search on Petfinder.org for a BT available for adoption. Their site changes daily.
Good luck!

Here's a great site: Boston Terrier Rescue
We got our BTs through the Northern VA BT Club. Perhaps there is a BT Club in your area, look on meetup.com. Our club supports responsible breeders and BT rescues; I think most clubs do.

Re: Please recommend your Boston Terrier Breeder
We have a BT and he is awesome and soo nuts (in a good way).
We will be going through the BT Rescue for the next one. We will never buy from a Pet Store or Breeder again

I understand not buying thru a pet store, but what is wrong with a reputable breeder? I have been researching different breeders thru AKC and was told what to look out for, but not to buy from them in general...

I have been researching different breeders thru AKC and was told what to look out for, but not to buy from them in general... Many people believe that rescue should be the first option. There is nothing wrong with go through a reputable breeder, as long as it is truly a reputable breeder. If you are doing your research through the AKC then that is a good place to start. If you'd like I can FM you a list of things to look out for, as well as a list of questions any breeder should easily answer for you.
I still like to give petfinder & the rescue orgs a try first as well, but I have also used a breeder & will research a breeder extensively before considering them.

Thanks! I have been checking petfinder daily, but DH and I really want a BT puppy and they are hard to come by

Re: Please recommend your Boston Terrier Breeder
good luck! your best bet would probably be going through the AKC site. usually they have a list of breeders by region

Thanks! I have been checking petfinder daily, but DH and I really want a BT puppy and they are hard to come by puppies can be harder to come by, and it does require some patience. What you might consider doing is visiting a shelter, like Little Shelter & see if maybe they have a BT (not all dogs available are on the websites), or if they know someone in the BT rescue orgs locally.
Remember a responsible breeder will not "always have puppies available" becuase it is impossible to breed a dog responsibly & have them always be PG.
