Britax Boulevard.
Like all Britax's, you can use the tether rear-facing, which like AP mentioned, is a great safety feature. High weight capacity (65 lbs) Side Impact Protection. When we got it, it was pretty much the only seat out there that had SIP. The Recaro brand has it now, and so does the Britax Diplomat. I'm not sure of any others, but I'm sure other companies are looking into it, or may even have one or two models out by now. I have a Britax Wizard for DS that is almost 6 years old that has Side Impact Protection, so it's not an overly new idea, but nobody seems to be implementing it.

I also like it b/c DS has very long legs & I was able to use it rear-facing long after he had outgrown the Infant seat. With this baby I will get another Britax Boulevard.

Re: Please recommend your convertivble carseat
I just bought the Evenflo Triumph. Highly rated in Consumers Reports, good up to 50 pounds, and great price - $130 at BRU. I bought 2 - one for my car and one for my mom who watches Athan everyday for me.

Re: Please recommend your convertivble carseat
Britax Blvd. it was $$$, but we chose it for the reasons Goldenrod mentioned. Also, DS is long and had outgrown the 30 inch limit on his infant seat. We sat him in the Diplomat at the store, but it just looked like he would outgrow it in a few months.
Your child probably won't hit 65 pounds before he/she outgrows this seat, but it's great for a tall child.
