Please settle a debate - mom's who have a playroom come in
If your playroom is in a seperate area from your LR, DR, Kitchen, for example in a finished basement
How much time does your DC actually spend in the playroom?
I had one growing up and besides when family and friends were over don't feel like I spent much time down there.. I would still play in the LR or in my bedroom. I wanted to be where my parents were.
TIA

Re: Please settle a debate - mom's who have a playroom come in
Growing up my brother and I spent all our time in our playroom in our basement or outside during the summer. But we had each other to play with so we liked having our own place.
Jack has a section of our living room as a playroom and its awesome because everything stays contained back there. He isn't allowed to play in our kitchen AT ALL. It is off the back of our sectional so it's awesome because no one can see his mess of toys most of the time.

Re: Please settle a debate - mom's who have a playroom come in
Growing up we had the entire basement to ourselves (me and 2 brothers)... It was such a great area to play, we even had a separate room that was set up like a classroom (ah I miss my childhood)... but anyway, even with all of that we played a lot in our own rooms upstairs. Anyway, Michael has a playroom which is the other half of our family room. For the most part he plays in there, but lately has been asking to go up and play in his room.

I didn't have one growing up but my son has one. We have a converted garage - a little less than half is all his. It isn't a huge space but my son plays in it all the time. However, he does have toys in his room, my family room and pretty every other room in my house. He spends most of his playing time in the playroom or the family room sinc ethat is where a majority of the toys are. He is young still most of the time we are in the same room playing with him.

We have a playroom downstairs and while we don't use it that much, we do use it. We have a lot of play dates so are always down there. Once we get nicer furniture then we will be down there often. I still leave puzzles and coloring stuff up in the livingroom and her dolls are in her room. all the big stuff, like kitchen and other toys like that are all down stairs. I like it that way.
