Please share your poop on the potty success stories
DS has been peeing on the potty continuously for 6 months at least. Everytime I tried switching him to underwear he was all for it, but DH was not on board. As soon as I left for work, DS was put back in pull-ups.
Over the past month he regressed and became too lazy to get up to pee. So he peed in his pull-ups. Finally DH realized how many pull-ups we going through and decided to get on board with the underwear. DS has been fully in underwear for 10 days now. But he still poops in them.
Now he is holding it in. He begged tonight for a diaper to poop in. What can I do? What have you done to successfully poop train?
Thanks you for any advice you have.

Re: Please share your poop on the potty success stories
Can't honestly say if it was right or wrong...or even if it really did help...but here's what we did:
When he asked for a pullup to poop we put one on him and then had him help clean up and throw the pullup away. I felt that the first step was getting him to understand his body and the feeling that he had to poop...to know it was coming and react rather than just go.
Soon we started asking him if he wanted to go on the potty when he asked for a pullup. Most times he said no and we tried not to push. Other times he would say yes but nothing would come out...then he'd ask for a pullup and go.
The first time he agreed to go on the potty and actually pooped we praised that kid without end and he got a little toy.
We went back and forth for at least a month...accidents, asking for the pullup, and trying the potty. Before we knew it the calendar in September had two consecutive weeks of stickers so we promised Chuck E Cheese if the whole calendar was full. He freakin did it and off to CEC we went where mama played her heart out in skeeball (with the baby bjorn ) and got a bunch of tickets that resulted in a ridiculous amount of little plastic frogs and a happy boy. He has been pooping every since and has not had a single accident since September.
Next we move on to night training.

Re: Please share your poop on the potty success stories
The only thing that worked for us was letting DS poop on the regular potty (without the potty seat). Turns out, he didn't like the potty seat, go figure! He was also a nap/pull-up pooper so it made it that much harder but once he was comfortable, he never looked back! I mean, literally, after the first time without the potty seat, he never pooped anywhere else than the potty (never had an accident either - knock wood!)

Re: Please share your poop on the potty success stories
I waited it out. He has been pee trained since August.
He was pooping in his underwear. He was waiting and pooping in his pullup when he took a nap and bedtime. He was withholding.
You name it, he did it.
I never yelled, I just explained that he needed to go poopy on the potty, not his underwear like a baby.
He just recently started to poop on the toilet. He was getting a toy reward every time he did it (but then we had a bratty problem with that) so now he gets Skittles when he poops.
The only thing I can say is not to push it, let him take the lead, but encourage pooping on the toilet.
It is THE MOST FRUSTRATING I have done to date!
