Please tell me that a flight to Disney with a 2 1/2 yr old...
will go really fast. As the time gets closer I am really starting to panic. So bad that I can't sleep and it is hard to function.
I wish I could get over this fear and just be able to enjoy it

Re: Please tell me that a flight to Disney with a 2 1/2 yr old...
I have flown with Rj a few times since his 1st birthday, we have never had a problem.
We flew to Disney in January; Rj was 2yrs 4 months and I think it was our easiest flight, and I think it was because it was our first time buying him his own seat. Having him buckled into his carseat onto the plane made it no different then a "car ride".
Just buy a few new things for him to keep occupied. Mini play-doh, coloring books, markers, maybe a new DVD if bringing a portable DVD player.
Im planning on flying to GA in January with RJ- by myself and 5 mths preggo.
The hardest part IMO is loading and unloading all there stuff.

We flew to CA with DD when she was 2 and she did fine. Just have something to keep him busy and it will be done before you know it.

2.5 hours is small potatoes. We just took our 3 year old on a 15 hour flight, and she was FINE.
I recommend you bring a portable DVD player with his favorite movies, and pack a few new toys, that are wrapped, for him to play with, along with some of his favorite snacks. I found the arts and craftsy toys did best with Alex on the long flight - markers, paper, tape, stickers, string with beads, etc.
Also, avoid sugary snacks - a sugar high won't do anyone any good on a little plane

I dont like to fly myself, and always get a bit of anxiety before/during take off but once Im up, Im ok...
Try and relax and focus on how much fun you guys are going to have...
Also- you are going to be so busy with Andrew it should make the time go by much quicker...
If they have a movie, be sure to get the headphones- that always helps too!
I wish I was going back to disney

It will be fine. I travelled with Gillian 7-8xs since she was born. 2 hrs goes by really fast. Bring a little tv and let him watch it. As far as you go, since you are preggo theres not much. You probably will be so occupied with him that time will fly. Once your up you are already down. Right away the do drink service. Maybe bring a bagel so that will eat up a 1/2 hrs time.

We did it with Lucas at 15 months so I am sure Andrew will be fine.
Things that helped keep him occupied:
Washable crayons (washable because they really do wash right up with a baby wipe) Coloring books Small toys (new - never seen before) Snack - lots of them DVD player with ear phones (loved the freakin ear phones ) Small books

You will be fine and Ds will do great! You sit him near the window he will look out and bring the DVD player like everyone said, that takes up alot of time.. DD alway falls asleep sometime in the flight we get lucky, but even if not she does start to freak a little but we do coloring and puzzles etc.. We have taken her to Fla every year sometime twice since she was born.. Its much easier with the car seat..

You'll be fine! He'll be great! Honestly flying with Jake at 2 and up was not bad at all. And the flight to FL is short. Even if he's not wild - he'll keep you busy enough to keep your mind off the flying!

Re: Please tell me that a flight to Disney with a 2 1/2 yr old...
Is it just the two of your flying? Or will someone else be thee? If you are THAT bad of a flier, I'd ask your Dr. if there's something safe that you can take (you are PG, right?)
I know mine said I can take benadryl when my allergies are bad, so that's probably safe - If there is another adult there to take care of your son, take the benadryl, knock yourself out for the flight and when you wake up, you'll be in FL ........

Re: Please tell me that a flight to Disney with a 2 1/2 yr old...
If you are a really bad flier can you speak with your doctor about taking something before the flight to help you relax without knocking you out? If your DH is coming then maybe you can knock yourself out and let him or whoever is coming with you entertain/take care of your DC.
We just flew with DD and although she is NOT 2 she is a very active 15 month old who NEVER sits. I watched what other families did and what worked for them for future travel.
Those that had the happiest kids brought: snacks books DVD player with their favorite videos games coloring books
I think if you are so busy playing with your DC then you won't be focusing on the flight. You might be lucky and both of you will sleep for part of it.
The flight to disney went very quickly and was over before I knew it.
